What I learned on my summer vacation

I hope you have had a fantastic summer!  I am grateful to say that my family and I definitely did.

In the summer of 2019, we went on an epic camping trip through Quebec and our Atlantic provinces, all the way to Newfoundland and the easternmost point of our country. This summer, we took our trailer west – driving through Northern Ontario, across the Prairies and through the Rockies, all the way to Vancouver Island and back.

These were truly once-in-a-lifetime trips.  I am so happy to say that my children have already visited all 10 Canadian provinces.  That they have already experienced a country so rich with culture and diverse people, and with spectacular natural landscapes large enough to boggle the imagination.

These trips also made me prouder than ever to call myself a Canadian, and more aware than ever of the great privilege it is to live in this land.  In a word, these trips have given me crucial perspective.

PERSPECTIVE

There is a lot going on in this world.  War, inflation, the environment, interest rates and oil prices among them.  As I spoke with people this summer – whether they were clients, friends, or the many people we met in our cross-country travels – I felt a flood of emotions coming from them.  Some folks are feeling up, some are feeling down, and many are feeling both.  Some people believe we are in tumultuous times, and some believe it is basically business as usual.

They all have their own perspective.  And regardless of where you are on that spectrum of emotions and beliefs, I want you to know this: at Ardill Group, we have the knowledge and expertise to try our best at providing stability and strength to your financial ecosystem as we walk with you through your financial life.

How?

I can summarize it like this:  we are keenly aware that some of our clients have weathered the market’s ups and downs extremely well, and other clients not quite as well.

Would you like to learn more? I truly hope so.  The end of summer has always been a time of renewal and getting down to business.  So give me a call – and let’s do a review.

Post script:  We are saddened by the passing of Her Majesty The Queen, honoured by her love of Canada, and grateful for the stability she helped provide this great country for the more than 70 years of her reign. May she rest in peace.
